Honoring Military children.

Month of the Military Child was established in 1986 to help raise the nation’s awareness of the unique challenges faced by military kids and families. Though military kids are tough, they also face various challenges that are unique to a military family life and should be celebrated for their resilience.
The dandelion has become a symbol of the military child due to its strength and resilience; but also like the perennial flower, military children are able to bloom and thrive anywhere in the world that they are planted. Purple symbolizes all branches of the military as it is a combination of all the colors. April 14th is the official Purple Up for Military Kids Day.
